Another visit with the puppies!

We got to go see the pups again today, but this time we got to hold them! The runt is my favorite cause’ she is so small.

I also really love this baby girl from another litter - she is so chubby and squishy!

Niko started his new baseball team today, and I got to go watch. It was fun! Mommy took pictures of it all and even took some of me!

I wanted to make funny faces for the camera…

… but Mommy wanted me to take pretty pictures.

We went to Mrs. Bryson’s today to see Munsie and the puppies, and I got to play with some other babies too!

I got my ears pierced!

Well, I have been begging my Mom to get my ears pierced for a few months, and she kept saying, we will - soon. She took us out to dinner on Tuesday night, and I asked again to get them done… but this time instead of saying we will - soon, she said ok, but you have to come home on at least a blue (the behavior system at school) and your teacher has to send a note to me telling me the color you were on.

I came home today, and I was on BLUE! Yippee.

So, Mom took me to Claire’s in the mall and I have beautiful new earrings!! It did not really even hurt too bad. I am so happy I did it!

We took a trip to Hilton Head with Aunt Lani and had a BLAST! Here are two photos that were taken right on the beach outside the condo that came out excellent!

It is time to start up school again, but we have decided not to build the curriculum this time. Since there are two kids, I have decided to order and use the Sonlight Curriculum. After researching many different ‘premade’ curriculum, I felt that this one would be the best to use with both Niko and Ty.

I truly enjoy creating my own curriculum, but with running Zenful Creations, the time is just not there as it once was. So we will try this for the next 36 weeks, and see if it is smoother.

This week we did a great deal of social studies with books, printables and crafts, but today we did it a bit differently. Instead we played outside most of the day, taking turns as “leader” in so many different games, and play.

Presidents Week - Lesson 4: Abraham Lincoln

During our lesson about George Washington, we learned about him being on the dollar bill, and the quarter. On our art sheet where we colored money and cut it out, there were other coins present. That can be the lead in for this days lesson.

Get your dollar or quarter out and have on hand a penny, or a five dollar bill… Oh, and wear a tophat if you have one

Abraham Lincoln: Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12 in 1809. Things were different then. When Abe was a boy, he lived in a log cabin. A log cabin is a small house made out of logs cut from trees. His father cut down the trees and made the cabin.

There were no electric lights in the cabin. Young Abe read books by firelight and drew with charcoal on a shovel. Abe’s family was poor. Often he went barefoot because he didn’t have any shoes.

When Abraham Lincoln grew up, he studied hard and became a lawyer. Then he was elected to be a law-maker. In 1861, Abraham Lincoln became the 16th President of the United States.
